Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position is essential to the administration of the Online Degree Pathways program as well as the Summer Sessions program. This person will ensure that we are scheduling effectively to meet the needs of our students by efficiently scheduling classes and meeting demand. This person will work on budgeting and forecasting for both programs as well as other duties. This person will also work on annual reports about student success and retention.

Our collaborative teams expand student access and improve student success with innovative programs that reach across our metropolitan area, Idaho, and beyond. We facilitate online education, community-based programs, concurrent enrollment at high schools, summer sessions, continuing education programs, and other lifelong learning options. Join us!

The Summer Sessions and Online Degree Pathways Programs directly impact students and their progression to graduation and meeting their educational goals. We partner with academic departments to schedule classes over the summer expanse and throughout the year for the online degree pathway program. We coordinate with academic advisors, student support, and marketing as well as others at the University to support our programs.

This position may have the opportunity to work hybrid where a mix of in-person work from a Boise State worksite (Yanke Building located off of Parkcenter Blvd) and an alternative work location is utilized. Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed.

Level Scope:

Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees at the entry or intermediate level. Functions as advisor to unit and administration and sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results. Analyzes and resolves problems through drawing from prior experiences. Interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of campus resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage day-to-day online degree pathways operation
  • Run and analyze reports for summer sessions and ODP
  • Coordinate with the Student Success Team for ODP student recruitment and advising.
  • Enrollment Management of ODP and summer classes to meet demand and maximize capacity
  • Review and track ODP student retention
  • Work with partner departments to build new ODP and summer offerings
  • Assist with budgeting and revenue reconciliation
  • Assist with faculty questions and issuing faculty contracts
  • Collaborate with campus departments to create a vibrant summer campus
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Administrative and program management skills. Ability to develop and implement plans and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with students, faculty, and administrative personnel.
  • Ability and willingness to provide engaging formal and informal presentations.
  • Current knowledge of adult-focused education programs and online programs.
  • Experience with budgeting
  • Experience developing reports
  • Adept at enrollment management
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and 2 years relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in higher education
  • Experience with class scheduling and enrollment management
  • Experience with online education
Salary and Benefits:

Starting salary of $70,000 and is commensurate with experience.
