The Boise State University School of Social Work is seeking qualified social workers committed to excellence in teaching to serve as adjunct instructors for our Boise Campus BSW & MSW Programs.

Job Description

An Adjunct Instructor in the School of Social Work is responsible for teaching students in a designated course.  They are responsible for teaching the course as designed, as well as determining grades for course requirements based on the course objectives and criteria as defined in the course syllabus. They receive support from the Program Coordinators to ensure student success.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides effective instruction to promote student success.
  2. Collaborates with Program Coordinators to ensure student success.
  3. Provides prompt responses to student(s) and School of Social Work faculty and staff communication.
  4. Adheres to appropriate policies and regulations within the University, College, and School.
  5. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others within the University, College, and School.
  6. Serves as a professional role model for students.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited institution.
  2. Minimum of 2 years post-MSW experience relevant to the courses and programs being taught.
  3. Demonstrates competence in specific social work practice area, preferably with experience working with vulnerable populations and marginalized communities.
  4. Social Work licensure preferred.

Adjunct instructors are not required to participate as a team member in shared governance, are not responsible for advising students, and are not voting members of the School of Social Work.
