Job Summary/Basic Function:

The School of Nursing (SON) Marketing Business Operations position oversees daily business activities and business related communications for the SON Marketing Department. This position will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of an Agency/Type marketing model and ensuring the tracking of ROI of marketing operations. The position will also collaborate and assist graphic design and recruitment personnel.

Position is a full-time 12-month professional position reporting to the Nursing Business Program Manager.

Department Overview:

The School of Nursing (SON) Marketing/Promotions Coordinator position oversees social media, engagement, and event/project coordination and related communications for the SON Marketing Department. The position will also collaborate and assist graphic design and recruitment personnel.

Level Scope:

Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training. Typically hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Essential Functions:

Business Operations (50%)

  • Assists the SON leadership through promotion and development of business operations and budget adherence related to the marketing and recruitment programs.
  • Nurtures and grows internal relationships in order to facilitate successful marketing campaigns, to develop agency model standards and processes with University partners.
  • Contributes to marketing materials, including print, digital and video materials.
  • In collaboration with program coordinators, assists in developing strategic marketing plans for each current and any future academic program based on budget, mission and vision of school.
  • In coordination with the Business Operations Manager, tracks annual recruitment and marketing budget, monitoring expenditures, and submitting financial reports to SON administration.
  • Travels as needed to develop or nurture external relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Marketing & Communication (35%)

  • Partners with marketing team in developing a strong brand identity for the SON that meets university guidelines and standards.
  • In coordination with the Business Operations Manager, develops and manages marketing strategies and campaigns that will advance the reputation of the SON among various internal and external constituencies.
  • Assists in development of marketing materials, including print, digital, social media and video by providing collaboration efforts to the SON graphic design specialist.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the SON web site including oversight of content and a design development that amplifies marketing and recruitment goals.
  • Serve on appropriate SON or university committees/task forces that are conducive to recruiting and retaining students, building/fostering relationships or partnerships, or promoting and expanding the reputation of the SON.
  • Attends staff meetings of various academic programs and stay familiar with any changes to programs, curriculum, staffing, etc. Able to articulate vision, mission, goals, curriculum, etc. of all SON academic programs and centers to external constituents.
  • Develops a broad understanding of nursing education and stays familiar with emerging trends and national and state initiatives.
  • Stays aware of new programs and their competitive advantages and disadvantages.
  • Assists with the regular development and distribution of SON news to internal and external audiences by collaborating with COHS and university communications personnel.

Recruitment (15%)

  • Works with the marketing recruiter on recruitment strategies including pipeline-building, outreach and recruitment events that will result in meeting enrollment goals for all SON academic programs.
  • Provides adhoc assistance to the SON Recruiter.
  • Travels as needed to attend recruitment events.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

  • 5-7 years of professional level experience.

Salary and Benefits:
