Essential Functions:

  • Capture the functional needs being expressed by stakeholders, technical, and functional staff and is able to translate those needs into a plan, solution, and deliverables.
  • Develop the critical path schedule which shows the sequence of events compatible with work breakdown structure based on the project objectives and scope. Create and maintain the project plan ensuring selected methodology is adhered to. Develop and continually update project plans and schedules.
  • Work with project stakeholders to define and refine project scope. Gather information required to estimate project costs, resources, time, and deliverables in order to deliver the project objectives.
  • Determine resource requirements and manage consult activities in order to effectively align resources across the project. Advise whether additional resources need to be procured outside the organization and develop requests for resources.
  • Conduct project coordination meetings, Planning Advisory Council (PAC), kickoff meetings, communicating individual roles and project expectations. Continue directing assigned projects utilizing established project standards and expectations.
  • Ensure that all project team members have the tools and training required to perform effectively.
  • Work with campus stakeholders to understand current processes and define and refine requirements with distinction between functional, non-functional, and business requirements.
  • Create and maintain the project plan ensuring selected methodology is adhered to.
  • Identify, analyze, and prioritize risks and create action plans to mitigate potential project impacts. Mitigate and resolve issues that arise during processes, keeping management aware of situations as needed.
  • Monitor the project and escalate scope, resourcing, budget, quality, and timeline issues appropriately. Formulate recovery plans or assess impact if not recoverable and escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide regular status reports to convey project scope, goals, milestones, budget, risk, status, change requests, and critical issues.
  • Develop and execute plans for quality assurance and user testing. Coordinate continuous testing and feedback loop to inform the project team of necessary changes.
  • Create and update communications and training plans.
  • Manage cutover activities.
  • Conduct formal review with the sponsor at project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction.
  • Document constructive feedback as it pertains to project work. Assist in implementing recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of change management (facilitation).
  • Experience working with both functional and technical users to define business needs and changes.
  • Experience in business process design and reengineering.
  • Experience in evaluation of data to meet business needs.
  • Experience in defining business processes and implementing business (budget) processes within Higher education.
  • Ability to present and explain complex technical topics, problems, and alternative solutions.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles with demonstrated project management skills.
  • Skilled in interpersonal relationships, collaborations, and communications (oral and written).
  • Ability to work autonomously, organize work and manage time effectively, and make key project decisions independently.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 7 years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP)

Salary and Benefits:
