Job Summary/Basic Function:

Providing skilled, specialized assistance to faculty, staff, and students, the Cleanroom Education Coordinator plays a critical function in support of the Semiconductor Manufacturing Education program. This position will be responsible for creating and maintaining training materials and courses, and is responsible for the preparation, delivery, grading, and records management of the courses listed for the program. The position will work closely with the Idaho Microfabrication Lab (IML) Director and faculty advisors on matters related to and for the benefit of the Engineering departments and its students. Much of the work day during class periods will be spent in a cleanroom environment while wearing a cleanroom garment suit from head to toe.

Essential Functions:

95% of the time:

• Instructs and guides a class of undergraduate/graduate/community college students in an efficient and effective manner.
• Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour. This may include prior process optimization, wafer cleaning, spin-coating, lithography, deposition, etching, and metrology tool calibration. This may also include prior wafer fabrication before the beginning of the academic term.
• Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance.
• Develops short courses and training modules in areas of expertise in semiconductor/ microelectronics manufacturing; constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course.
• Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment.
• Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
• Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching.
• Maintains currency in field of expertise, in training and instructional development, and in course delivery to ensure best practices in implementing and delivering education and training.
• Monitors semiconductor industry trends and benchmark practices in other states and countries.
• Develops reports related to established metrics that assess the effectiveness of our programs and to gauge the needs of the industry sector.
• Maintains effective working relationships with industry representatives, community college staff, and the general public.
• Must complete mandatory safety training.

5% Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Experience with cleanroom gowning, process chemistry, SOP writing, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience delivering training courses/programs is a plus.
• Experience with SPC, DOE and other quality control methods is a plus.
• Familiarity with current semiconductor manufacturing practices.
• Evidence of strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication/public relation skills.
• Demonstrates problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to changing teaching environment.
• Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action.
• Ability to select training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new concepts.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 3+ years of experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a semiconductor technician or as a process integration engineer.
• A minimum of five years of experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Salary and Benefits:
