There is a new opening for an Assistant Clinical Professor or Lecturer Faculty position in Construction Management at Boise State University.
Position Overview:
The Boise State University Department of Construction Management (CM) seeks to hire a full-time, 9-month non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor or Lecturer beginning Fall 2025. The successful candidate will bring construction management industry expertise and technologies to our growing program and contribute to our program’s renowned success. The CM department enjoys an outstanding reputation within the industry and receives strong industry support through an active industry advisory council. This faculty position will primarily be a teaching position focusing on face-to-face undergraduate courses.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility involves teaching students in the academic setting. The department is committed to offering a high-quality educational experience for students. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate courses in the following areas: construction surveying, scheduling, MEP systems, soils & construction equipment, and/or statics and mechanics of materials. The normal teaching load for these positions is 9-12 credit hours per semester (typically, 3-4 courses). The successful candidate will have experience in the US construction industry and be able to bring that experience to the classroom, as well as engage in continuing education to remain up-to-date in the profession. The use of mobile devices and other technologies in the classroom is also expected.
In addition to teaching, the candidate will be expected to participate in departmental discussions and decisions related to content, learning outcomes, and pedagogy in the program. The candidate will be expected to mentor students and participate in service activities such as working with student organizations, clubs, and competition teams. The candidate will also act as a department liaison with construction industry representatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate a team-player attitude.

Minimum Qualifications:
Assistant Clinical Professor:
- Master’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline, or an MBA.
- Combination of at least five years of teaching and US construction management experience.
Lecturer:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, surveying, civil engineering technology, architecture, or a closely related field OR Master’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering, architecture, architectural engineering, or a closely related discipline or an MBA.
- At least seven years of progressively advancing US construction management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
- 5+ years of US construction industry experience focused on commercial or heavy civil construction.
- Professional certifications or licenses related to the construction industry.
- Experience in construction management-related computer and/or mobile applications.
- Active membership in construction-related associations or organizations.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience.
