Welcome to an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Marketing at Boise State University as a full-time Lecturer in Business Communication. We are seeking a student-centered Lecturer with a track record of designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences at the university level.
Our new colleague will join a team of two other full-time Business Communication Lecturers and a group of dedicated adjunct instructors. Together, the team coordinates and delivers all sections of the Business Communication course for the College of Business and Economics. As a full-time Lecturer, this position will teach four undergraduate sections of Business Communication per semester. The ideal candidate will be able to lead faculty in adapting our courses to meet the evolving demands of AI in professional communication.
As a full-time Business Communications Lecturer, you will have a direct impact on the success and marketability of our students.
Department Overview:
Boise State's Marketing Department currently offers Marketing Major (BBA) and Minor programs of study. Students majoring in marketing may choose emphasis areas in Brand and Product Marketing or Marketing Communications. Marketing courses, on average, enroll 34 students per course. Approximately 105 students per year graduate with a Marketing Major.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Communication, Business, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching college-level Business Communication or related Communication courses.
- Willingness to teach courses in-person, hybrid, and online.
- Demonstrable expertise in written and oral communication skills.
- Experience coordinating with other instructors to deliver consistent learning outcomes.
- Experience integrating technology, including AI, into curricula.
- Demonstrable commitment to providing students timely and meaningful feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach four sections of undergraduate Business Communication courses each semester.
- Lead an effort to integrate AI and other relevant technologies into the Business Communications course.
- Maintain high standards for student engagement, feedback, and success in written and oral communication skills.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary commensurate with experience and AACSB standards.
Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly, renewable contract, unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here.
