Job Summary/Basic Function: |
This position is responsible for overseeing the Department of Public Safety’s Event Security Program, which includes managing event security operations for university events. Boise State University hosts over 2,000 events annually, ranging from sporting events and concerts to lectures, workshops, and other social gatherings, organized by both internal and external groups. The Associate Director will collaborate with departments and venues across campus to minimize event impacts, ensure appropriate security staffing and planning, and prioritize a positive guest experience. A critical component of this role is managing the Game Day Security Program, including overseeing metal detection operations and efficiently moving over 37,000 ticket holders into and out of the stadium during each home football game. These responsibilities are integral to safeguarding the safety, security, and reputation of the university. With safety identified as the top priority by the University President, this position plays a vital role in upholding the well-being of students, staff, and visitors while fostering a secure and welcoming environment. Campus Security Authority: This position is identified as a “Campus Security Authority (CSA)” per the federal law known as the Clery Act. Per this law, the employee is required to report any crimes that he/she becomes aware of to the Clery Compliance Officer. Additionally, CSAs are required to complete annual training prescribed by the Clery Compliance Officer. |

Level Scope: |
Manages a large team typically consisting of both experienced professionals and subordinate Managers. Focuses on tactical and operational plans with short to mid term focus; significant responsibility to achieve broadly stated goals through subordinate Managers. Determines objectives, directs programs, develops strategies and policies, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a high degree of autonomy. Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead a project or program teams in one dept/job family. Proactively assesses risk to establish systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. Determines campus strategies for a program with campus wide impact. |

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: |
● Experience with event and/or game day management |
Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, plus 7 years experience including 3 years of management experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
● At least 3 years of previous experience with event and/or game day management. |
Salary and Benefits: |
