Job Summary/Basic Function: |
Working with academic units across the entire university, the communications specialist will identify, evaluate and help drive enterprise-level content that is brand-aligned, strategic and in step with OCM communications plan goals. This position will coordinate a team of communicators from colleges and units across campus, design and facilitate weekly meetings, and in collaboration with these communicators, develop and manage a unified content calendar. This position will advise on content choices and storytelling best practices across all academic units. The communications specialist will represent academics at OCM meetings, manage the academics segment of the OCM university-wide communications plan, and help determine which content from academic units is reflected across brand-level channels. |

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees. Typically hold a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience. |
Essential Functions: |
60% of Time the Communications Specialist must: ● Strong writing and proofreading skills. 35% of Time the Communications Specialist must: ● Help tell the Boise State story across OCM channels, including Boise State Magazine, social media, website, Boise State News and more. 5% of Time Perform other duties as assigned |

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of professional experience, or equivalent relevant experience. |
Salary and Benefits: |
