Job Summary/Basic Function:

The purpose of the Project Manager position is to facilitate, manage and successfully implement assigned enterprise projects. The Project Manager is the person who has overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project. They ensure that projects follow the OIT project process and project management framework.

This position may have the opportunity to work hybrid where a mix of in-person work from a Boise State worksite and an alternative work location is utilized within the state of Idaho. Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed.

The Marketing and Communications team, within the Division of Extended Studies, focuses on the awareness and promotion of Boise State Online and programs supported by the Division of Extended Studies. The team is composed of professionals with a variety of skill sets spanning creative, marketing and content development. The team draws on these diverse talents to collaboratively achieve goals.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:

● Manage and oversee processes related to the development and ongoing revisions of marketing and communications team activities.
● Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of workmanship; maintain relationships with coworkers, internal and external partners, and vendors; and deliver finished projects within budget and on time.
● Prepare, analyze, and document team processes for project initiation, execution, and close out.
● Coordinate integration of projects and track workflow to monitor progress. Provide oversight in the task delegation and assignment process.
● Resolve issues on projects regarding unforeseen conditions, partner concerns or complaints, and shifting staff resources.
● Develop and provide current and ongoing information to manage project funding, schedules, and scope descriptions for project reporting.
● Independently perform the full range of responsibilities within the function.
● Maintain and improve upon project management software, Wrike, and find opportunities for improvement in how we utilize the tool and increased efficiency and transparency within the team. Generate reports for managers on project progress, staff workloads, and forecasting availability for future projects.
● Facilitate new program onboarding and processes. Provide communication about campaigns and program changes to support successful new program launches and facilitate a collaborative ongoing relationship.
● Coordinate project intake with partners and serve as the primary point of contact for large-scale projects and establish timelines and communications with appropriate stakeholders and coordinate logistics through project completion.
● Lead and participate in project kick-off meetings, project debriefs, and recurring project check-in meetings.
● Regularly assess portfolio of projects and prioritize work.
● Remain aware and versed in emerging technology or communication streams that may be beneficial to University actions.
● May perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Ability to manage/coordinate projects and navigate multiple task streams, and ensure work is carried out according to established timelines and budgets.
● Strong ability to think analytically and critically.
● Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
● Ability to foster a supportive work environment and work effectively with others
● Ability to facilitate large group discussions
● Understanding of marketing processes relevant to creating timelines, coordinating dependencies, and serving as a primary point of contact.
● Expertise in use of project management software and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 2 years relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

● 5 years of project management experience.
● Project management experience for a marketing team.
● PMP or other project management certification preferred.

Salary and Benefits:
