Job Summary/Basic Function: |
The Research Development Strategist is an integral member of the Center for Research and Creative Activity. This experienced, professional level position will contribute to the development and implementation of the Division of Research and Economic Development’s strategy, priorities, and goals to grow the University’s research enterprise. The strategist will play a key role in expanding the university’s biosciences research portfolio, with an emphasis on building health sciences, biomedical, and biotechnology research development capacity across the university. Key responsibilities include designing, coordinating, and implementing biosciences focused research development services and resources across a broad range of agencies (e.g., NIH, ARPA-H, NSF, DOE, DOD, NASA). This role has the opportunity for hybrid work and is based in Boise, ID. |
Level Scope: |
Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures. |

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree and 5 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience. |
Preferred Qualifications: |
Advanced degree in a health sciences-related field. A proven track record in successfully developing biomedical, and health sciences-related grant proposals. |
Salary and Benefits: |
