Department overview:

Founded in 1966, Criminal Justice is a forward leaning and historied program. It currently offers a bachelor’s (BS), a minor, and a masters (MA) in criminal justice. The BS degree is a selective entry major, as pre-CJ majors, students must complete various requirements before being admitted to the CJ major and their upper-division classes. The program serves more than 600 students with a range of in-person, online, and hybrid class offerings. Approximately 40 percent of BS graduates go on to attend law school or graduate school. Over the last 59 years, thousands of graduates of the program have gone onto jobs in victim services, policing, law and courts, corrections, and research.

The program and its 12 FT faculty are housed on the first floor of the Albertson’s Library, on the Boise State main campus. The space contains faculty offices, study and meeting space for undergraduate students, and a computer lab and office space for graduate students. The CJ faculty are a friendly and collegial group who are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
