Job Summary/Basic Function:

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and revenue for PACE. Your primary responsibilities will include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating strong relationships with clients and partners, and achieving sales targets. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential clients, closing deals, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

This position may have the opportunity to work hybrid where a mix of in-person work from a Boise State worksite and an alternative work location within the state of Idaho. Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed.

Level Scope:

Recognized subject matter expert who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field with limited oversight from managers. Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; requires deep job knowledge of area typically obtained through higher education combined with experience. Manages large projects or processes and problems faced are difficult and often complex; analyzes problems/issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy. Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures.

Essential Functions:

● Create design concepts and make recommendations for national advertising, marketing materials, and promotional pieces.
● Responsible for researching and overseeing the utilization of various analytical tools.
● Continue professional development by participating in organizations, workshops, conferences, and continuing education.
● Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings to understand customer and market opportunities for businesses.
● Direct the hiring of advertising, promotions, and marketing staff and oversee their daily activities.
● Provide excellent customer service to new and existing clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly.
● Track and report on sales activities, performance metrics, and forecasts.
● Participate in the PACE leadership team.
● Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve favorable terms for the client and Boise State Professional and Continuing Education (PACE).
● Create a company sales funnel that helps PACE align with the Boise State University Strategic plan for the department's long-term health. Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals.
● May perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Creative, project management, and interpersonal skills.
● Exemplary customer service skills and the ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers, colleagues, and vendors.
● Experience delegating to and managing a project team
● Good knowledge of marketing principles, organizational skills, staffing, annual revenue and customer growth.
● Experience in marketing or sales promotion; website management; social media and MS Office products.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years experience including 1 year of managerial experience or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 3 years of experience identifying and qualifying potential clients through various methods, including emails, calls, networking, and social selling.

At least 3 years of experience building and maintaining strong client relationships to foster long-term partnerships. Creating a supportive learning environment and adapting to varied audience sizes, venues, and available audio-visual technologies.

At least 3 years of experience developing and delivering persuasive sales presentations to clients, highlighting the value of professional development opportunities.

Salary and Benefits:
