Job Summary/Basic Function: |
This position manages day-to-day activities to ensure the department is running efficiently and meets the expectations and needs of customers and staff. Assists with the management/administrative aspects and has operational control of a range of projects. May work on assignments related to project development and management initiatives, internal operating procedures, business processes and policies. |
Department Overview: |
The Department of Computer Science has grown dramatically over the past decade currently serving several hundred students with 28 faculty members and housing two Bachelor’s programs, a Master’s program and an interdisciplinary Doctorate program. Currently housed in the City Center Plaza in downtown Boise, state of the art facilities and equipment are accessible to students, faculty, staff and even alumni as a large majority of CS graduates stay and work in Boise after graduation. This computer science professional pipeline helps fuel local industry which the department has cultivated close partnerships with. Faculty have grown active funded research programs, with research expenditures climbing over $2M annually. The Computer Science Main Office is a positive and customer service minded team that ensures our students, faculty, and community have the support they need to teach, learn, and research in this important discipline. |
Level Scope: |
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training. |
Essential Functions: |
60% of Time the Business Operations Coordinator must: 35% of the Time: ●Support CS Main Office front desk operations including customer service, purchasing (P-card), building management support, student hiring, etc. 5% Perform other duties as assigned |

Minimum Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience |
Preferred Qualifications: |
●Proven customer service experience ●Experience with management or assistance of financial systems ●Experience in communications such as writing or social media marketing |
Salary and Benefits: |
