Job Summary/Basic Function:

This position provides a broad range of professional employee relations activities including but not limited to: employee consulting, training, conflict resolution, complaint investigation, policy interpretation, and the preparation and delivery of related summary reports and recommendations. Interacts with all levels of leadership regarding legal compliance, discipline, terminations, and negotiated separations. Works with a great deal of independent discretion in decision-making and execution of responsibilities.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals and /or support employees.

Essential Functions:

● Develop and implement employee relations policies and procedures to ensure a positive work environment and maintain employee morale.
● Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disputes, and recommend appropriate action to management.
● Conduct workplace investigations, including harassment, discrimination, and other policy violations, and provide recommendations for corrective action.
● Advise managers and employees on employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC.
● Develop and conduct training programs for employees and managers on employee relations topics, such as conflict resolution, communication skills, and harassment prevention.
● Collaborate with other HR functions, including recruitment, compensation, and benefits, to ensure a coordinated approach to employee relations issues.
● Maintain accurate records of employee relations activities and produce reports as required.
● Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices in employee relations and make recommendations to management.
● Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and EEOC.
● Experience conducting workplace investigations and resolving employee disputes and grievances.
● Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills such as negotiation, mediation, coaching, and consulting.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other HR functions and Campus departments.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or equivalent progressively responsible professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Previous experience in higher education.
● Experience using Excel and Google Suite.
Salary and Benefits:

Salary range of $50,502.40-$62,379.20/per year, commensurate with experience.
