The Boise State University Department of Management, within the College of Business and Economics, is hiring an assistant professor in the area of strategy / entrepreneurship to begin Fall 2025, with particular focus on a candidate that can teach in both areas.
Our department and college value both teaching and research, so a strong candidate will have both a stream of research in progress and the aspiration to excel as a teacher. This position will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in strategy / entrepreneurship in face-to-face and online formats. The initial teaching load is 2-2 for the first three years. The standard teaching load is 3-3 with reductions to 2-3 or 2-2 dependent upon research productivity. A commitment to service and collegial interaction with other faculty, staff, and students is desirable.

The Department of Management hosts the most majors in the College of Business and Economics, with over 1,000 students majoring in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, or International Business. The Department is also home to over 250 non-traditional students in our innovative online Management degree completion program. In graduate education, we provide courses in four MBA programs, including our nationally recognized online MBA program.

Minimum qualifications:
- A Ph.D. degree at the time of appointment in strategy, entrepreneurship, or a related field from a nationally or internationally AACSB-accredited university.
- Evidence of research/scholarly activity and potential.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Willingness to teach both strategy and entrepreneurship courses.
Preferred qualifications:
- Refereed journal publications in strategy, entrepreneurship, or related fields.
- Teaching experience in strategy and/or entrepreneurship at the university level, including “capstone” courses.
- Demonstrated service to the campus, local community, state, and other areas on a professional level.
- Professional business experience.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is competitive with AACSB medians based on comparable business colleges: $133,300.
