Job Summary/Basic Function:

Provides faculty development support, consulting on effective and wide-ranging pedagogy, assessment, and/or course design, and assisting with strategies for student success. Oversees the implementation and tracking of program accreditation standards. Assists faculty in planning annual professional development meetings. Manages the student evaluation data for concurrent enrollment students. Coordinates and takes direction from the Director on strategies to administer a quality dual credit program.

This position may have the opportunity to work hybrid where a mix of in-person work from a Boise State worksite and an alternative work location is utilized. Candidates must be able to work on-site as needed.

The Concurrent Enrollment Program team, within the Division of Extended Studies, focuses on supporting academic departments and partners secondary schools to offer quality university classes for high school students. The team is composed of professionals with many years of experience in higher education, with a variety of skills in program administration. The team draws on these diverse talents to lead a successful dual credit program celebrating over 25 years.

Level Scope:

Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:

● Support faculty liaisons to analyze needs and determine goals for delivering professional development workshops to partner concurrent enrollment instructors.
● Design and facilitate faculty development workshops (both online and in-person). Contribute to the delivery of development services and assist in tracking activities.
● Contribute to department communication of ideas to faculty (e.g., Teaching Tips, Nutshell notes); provide faculty with access to information via University platforms.
● Implements ongoing training, professionals development and mentoring for faculty liaisons related to course alignment.
● Assists with event planning and training for concurrent enrollment instructors.
● Provide application assistance, orientation and on-boarding for new and continuing concurrent enrollment instructors.
● Provide oversight, tracking, and analysis for course evaluations.
● Work directly with faculty liaisons and high school instructors in a variety of settings including individual consultations, learning communities, formal workshops and other informal settings.
● Conduct regular communications with faculty liaisons to assess their needs to related to program accreditation standards.
● Become an expert on concurrent enrollment national accreditation standards.
● May perform other duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

● Experience with and knowledge of effective teaching strategies.
● Experience with tools or strategies in a particular area of teaching (e.g., teaching with technology, active learning, etc.).
● Basic understanding of the tenets of wide-ranging teaching techniques.
● Ability to draw from the literature around effective teaching and faculty development to inform work.
● Ability to be both a collaborative team member and to work independently.
● Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills.
● Effective facilitation and consultation skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Two years of experience in leading professional development workshops in various formats to professional audiences.
● One year of experience in building and managing constructive relationships with faculty, instructional staff, and other subject matter experts.
● A Master's Degree.

Salary and Benefits:
