The Opportunity Overview

Boise State University is seeking an innovative, entrepreneurial, strategic senior leader to serve as Dean, College of Innovation and Design and Director of Strategic Initiatives. Reporting to the President and serving as a member of the Executive Team, the Dean also serves the Provost in their role as the academic leader of the college.

The Dean and their staff will support the President in leading and implementing University-wide strategic initiatives that help build the future Boise State. This provides the opportunity to work closely with the Executive Team, other Deans and external partners to create unique capacity and distinctive opportunities to benefit students, faculty and staff. As the academic leader of the College, the Dean is a visionary who embraces an entrepreneurial spirit and manages a rapidly changing college.

Unique in the higher education landscape, the College of Innovation and Design is a degree-granting college without disciplinary boundaries and acts as an incubator, convener and collaborator, with the mission to help build the future Boise State. The college is an academic incubator, leading and collaboratively supporting the development of new, innovative curriculum to meet the needs of students and the current and future workforce of Idaho and the nation. With an emphasis on both innovative curricular delivery and content, the College creates new programming that ultimately “graduates” to other colleges and also supports other colleges or schools with their innovative program development.
