The Department of Finance in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position (nontenure-track) to teach and conduct research starting in August 2025. Position Overview:

The Department of Finance at Boise State University invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position (nontenure-track) starting Fall 2025. The successful applicant is expected to teach both face-to-face and asynchronous online undergraduate Finance courses. The candidate should have a commitment to high-quality teaching, scholarship leading to conference presentations and refereed journal publications, engage in university and community service, and establish and maintain connections with the professional finance community. The standard teaching load is three courses per semester. The position requires keeping AACSB SA status through publications in refereed journals.  The successful applicant must relocate to the Boise, Idaho area.

Faculty from Boise State will be available to meet during the 2024 FMA meeting in Grapevine, TX in October. If you will be attending FMA, please contact Dr. Jared Egginton at jaredegginton@boisestate.edu. Candidates are not required to attend the FMA meeting to be considered for the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in finance, or a closely-related field, or expected completion of a Ph.D. by August 2025, from an AACSB-accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated record of recent scholarly activity (or for recent graduates, demonstrated promise of future scholarly activity).
  • Maintain Scholarly Academic (SA) faculty status by publishing at least two articles in peer-reviewed journals in a five-year period.
  • Dedication to excellence in teaching.
  • Willingness to teach in both face-to-face and asynchronous online formats.

Salary and Benefits:

Starting salary is competitive with peer AACSB schools.

Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months. This is a yearly, renewable contract, unless noted that the position is temporary. More information about faculty contract and work days is available here

The Department of Finance has approximately 400 Finance students in the undergraduate program. The department also supports in-person and online MBA programs.
